Hero Xtreme Sports Power and torque upgraded – Takes on Yamaha FZ-S, Fazer, TVS Apache, Bajaj Pulsar and Suzuki Gixxer

It has been a year or more since the native Indian automotive giant Hero Moto Corp has showcased the brand new Xtreme Sports 150 CC commuter bike in the Indian market. The official debut of the model into the market is yet to be made but most of the tech specs and other details have been revealed already. Hero has made some changes to the power and torque figures of the new Xtreme in their official website.

Hero has displayed the Xtreme Sports for the first time in the month of January last year and it was showcased in other markets globally such as Nepal and Sri Lanka later. Apart from cosmetic changes, the new Xtreme Sports comes with some technical upgrades as well. The front end gets the same head light adopted from the standard edition but slight modifications are made. The instrument cluster has gone fully digital with a display screen and indicators for service due and etc. Hero has also show cased the Sports edition Xtreme at the Milan motor show held in Italy last year which is also known as EICMA.

The brand new Xtreme Sports commuter bike comes powered with a 149.2 CC single cylinder air cooled engine that is capable of generating around 15.2 bhp power at the peak along with 13.5 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a five speed constant mesh gear box by default and Hero has assured that the new edition of Xtreme is going to be a lot quicker than the standard edition. Xtreme Sports must overtake rival models in the segment such as Yamaha Fazer V2.0, FZ – S V2.0, Bajaj Pulsar, Honda CBR 150R, Suzuki Gixxer and TVS Apache RTR160 etc. Hero has not yet revealed anything about the price of the upcoming Xtreme Sports so far but some sources have revealed that the price of the new edition is likely to be dearer by around Rs. 3000 than the outgoing edition most probably.
