Humiliating Defeat for India at Tri-series 2015: England Won by 9 Wickets

Team India faced a humiliating defeat at the hands of England in a match in the ongoing tri series in Australia. India lost the match when there are still 135 balls to play for England which shows how bad the performance of India was. England defeated India by nine wickets.

Brisbane: India won the toss and elected o bat first. They were all out for 153 runs in just 39.3 overs. . Except for Stuart Binny, all other batsmen could not face the pace bowling of England. Neither Indian bowlers did any miracle with the ball. Bell was not out on 88 and James Taylor was not out on 56. England chased the target in just 27.3 overs and also won a bonus point and increased its chances of entering the finals of the series. Finn is given the man of the match award. To keep the hopes of entering the finals of this tri series, India has to win the other two matches.

Team India batsmen were never comfortable and the decision of Dhoni to bat first proved to be wrong. First match hero Rohit Sharma was not available for the match due to thigh muscle injury. Dhawan continued his bad form and scored only one run. He was out for the first ball of the third over in the bowling of Anderson. Rahane and Rayudu stayed in the crease for twelve overs and added 56 runs to the second wicket. Though the score was less, there were wickets in hand India had the chance of setting a good target for England. But unexpectedly India lost four wickets in the gap of 27 deliveries and made only ten runs. Anderson-Finn duo claimed the last five Indian batsmen wickets in just 16 runs.

Irresponsible playing of Indian batsmen was the main reason for Team India’s bad performance. Though binny’s selection for the team created controversy, he proved his ability by batting even under tremendous pressure. It was due to Binny that India could cross the 150 mark in this match. Along with Dhoni, he added 70 runs to the sixth wicket.

Sunil Gavaskar, formed Indian cricket player said that Indian bowlers have not learnt anything from foreign tours. Bhuvneshwar and Shami are going to play crucial role in the world cup. India should play the world cup matches with two spinners.
