RTC to Run 5560 Special Buses from Hyderabad to Various Destinations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for Sankranti Festival

RTC is going to run 5560 special buses from January 8 to January 13, 2015 to various destinations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad, Greater Zone RTC executive director G Jayarao informed this to media. This is to prevent any kind of difficult for passengers who travel to various places from Hyderabad during Sankranthi festival.

Hyderabad: The special buses will stop at important points such as Mahatma Gandhi bus station, SBS, Dilsukhnagar and Uppal. Buses will also start from authorized ticket booking agents. The special buses that will run from January 9 to 12 will not start from MGBS but from other nearby places. Regular services except interstate and Volvo buses will also start from other points during this time.

Special buses of RTC will run to Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad and Medak from Jubilee Bus station, From Central bus station, these will go to Kurnool, Anantapuram, Cuddapah, Chittoor, Ongole and Nellore. Special buses will depart from Dilsukhnagar and Uppal crossroads to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh and also to Nalgonda and Miryalguda.

  • 220 buses to Nizamabad region
  • 480 buses to Karimnagar region
  • 370 buses to Warangal region
  • 320 buses to Khammam region
  • 260 buses to Nalgonda region
  • 270 buses to Mahboobnagar region
  • 130 buses to Medak region
  • 510 buses from Rangareddy and greater zones
  • 860 buses to Vijayawada
  • 230 buses to East Godavari
  • 155 buses to West Godavari
  • 120 buses to Visakhapatnam
  • 190 buses to Guntur
  • 455 buses to Ongole
  • 185 buses to Nellore
  • 85 buses to Chittoor
  • 95 buses to Kadapa
  • 90 buses to Anantapur
  • 370 buses to various places in Kurnool region

An additional fifty percent charge will be collected from passengers to travel in these special buses. RTC ED said that there will be passengers while going to various places from Hyderabad but in return journey there will be very less passengers and this causes big losses to RTC. Even then RTC considers it their responsibility to offer better services to passengers during festival seasons and thus is running special buses. Three hundred officials and staff will supervise the running of special buses.
