Verna Facelift to beat Honda Amaze, City and Volkswagen Vento – Test mule spotted near Chennai

The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai has already started development of the next gen Verna sedan. Verna 2015 is going to be the first ever major facelift edition for the sedan in India and Hyundai is hoping for a good start next year with the launch of the same keeping the increasing demand for the budget friendly entry level premium sedans in the. A test mule of the Facelift Verna was spied recently and the same was revealed over web.

An enthusiast has spotted a test mule of the upcoming Verna facelift recently and has managed to capture few snaps of the same. A set of respective images were revealed over web and it is also informed that the test mule was spotted near the manufacturer’s facility in Chennai. The test mule was wearing black coloured camouflage on front as well as on the rear ends. As we could observe from the spy images, the base structure of the sedan is unaltered. Though the standard edition of the sedan has is performing well in India, it is necessary for the manufacturer to launch an upgrade periodically in order to give a boost to sales.

Hyundai is likely to offer the Facelift edition of Verna sedan in petrol and diesel versions just like the current gen edition. Base petrol variant may get powered with a 1.4 litre engine which produces around 107 PS power at the peak whereas the base diesel variant may feature a 1.4 litre unit producing around 90 PS at the peak. Higher end petrol variant is expected to get powered with a 1.6 litre engine producing 123 PS power and the range topping variant may get powered with a 1.6 litre diesel mill which churns out around 128 PS most probably.

Verna Facelift 2015 is expected to offer a five speed manual transmission gear box or a six speed automatic transmission gear box in India and the launch could be in the first quarter of the year.
