Skoda Superb to be launched at Geneva 2015? – Takes on Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat

Skoda has amazed the automotive world with the preview of the upcoming Vision C concept earlier this year. The exclusive design of the concept has given the world a hint of the design philosophy the upcoming models from Skoda. The same has made the upcoming edition of Superb more exciting and as per the information, Skoda is likely to launch the 2015 Superb sedan at Geneva Motor Show next year.

The next gen Superb sedan is likely to be designed basing on the MQB platform adopted from Volkswagen Group. Former models such as Passat went successful which were made using the same platform. It is also informed that Skoda is going to launch a hybrid version of the Superb sedan soon after the introduction of standard edition. When compared to the former edition, the upcoming Superb is going to be more fuel efficient and quick due to the lighter body and chassis. We can expect it to be offered in both petrol and diesel versions in the Indian market.

Superb 2015 can get powered with a 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine most probably and the power output may be similar to that of Volkswagen Passat. We can expect the diesel version of the model to get fitted with a 2.0 litre TDI engine. As other manufacturers have not announced any upgrades of models of the same range as Skoda Superb, the chance for getting a breakthrough directly increases for the Czech car making giant. The manufacturer has also previewed Vision C concept at the Good Wood Festival of Speed this year.

Skoda is going to launch the production ready version of Superb 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show which is going to be held in the month of March. We can expect the sedan to get priced around Rs. 25 lakhs in the Indian market mostly and it has to compete with models such as Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata.
