New Generation Heroines

The focus in Tollywood is gettng shifted to new generation heroines like Regina, Rakul Preet Singh & Pooja Hegde.

Vijayawada: Despite the fact that the Tollywood is having many heroines like Nayanatara, Anushka, Kajal, Tamanna, Trisha etc. all these heroines are top rated and are preferably doing multi-lingual movies only. The remuneration for these heroines is also very high forcing the producers looking for newer faces who can give better output in terms of success at the box office.

The new names doing rounds on this context are the new generation heroines. Regina is one of the best beautiful faces who also gave successful movies like Shiva Manasulo Shruti (SMS), Kotha Janta, Ra Ra Krishnayya, Power and she is scheduled to get her future releases in Telugu for movies like Shankara & Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham.

Rakul Preet Singh is another successful heroine who gave successive hits like Venkatadri Express & Lowkyam. She is also appearing before the audience with her further movies like Current Teega (with Manchu Manoj), Panda Chesko (with Ram), Rough (with Aadi), Kick2 (with Ravi Teja). Rakul is also lucky enough to get her an entry into Bollywood with great director Ramesh Sippy. The movie titled Simla Mirchi will be having dream girl Hema Malini playing important role.

Pooja Hegde is the latest entrant into Tollywood. Her just released Oka Laila Kosam with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is receiving positive reports at the box office thereby making many producers form the line for her dates for their next movies. She is also able to find place in Bollywood with great director Ashutosh Gowarikar & super hero Hrithik Roshan. Pooja’s debut into Bollywood would be through historical movie titled ‘Mohenzo Daro’ (a film based on Indus civilization).

The fresh set heroines are finding it more convenient to appear for promos as well as other functions like audio launch etc. The established heroines are becoming more popular for their many acts which are not in the interest for the industry as a whole. They are not able to find time for promos (as happened for Sekhar Kammula for his movie Anamika with Nayanatara and he had to involve singer Suneetha for the promo shooting).

If the new generation heroines are able to give successive hits at the box office, they are bound to find good market in regional as well as Hindi movies.
