CONGRESS LOOKING TO PRIYANKA AS SAVIOR

Congress Looking Towards Priyanka As The Only Saviour

The grand old political party of the country is facing the toughest situation in its life and is desperate to find a saviour for the party.

New Delhi: The grand old political party of our country is congress party (established more than 128 years). The party actively participated and coordinated the freedom struggle and got the credit of getting independence for our country.

Based on the credential (of getting independence for our country), the party enjoyed power at centre and in many states for most part of the post-independence. The charisma of congress leaders is not able to attract the people and voters.

The recent elections saw the party showing miser performance. The party could not be recognised as the main opposition in Lok Sabha. Coming to state elections, the ruling party in Maharasthra & Haryana before the elections could secure only the 3rd position in terms of seats in both the states, thereby denying the party the opposition status in these states as well.

For the Lok Sabha elections, Yuvaraju (Rahul Gandhi the vice president of the congress party) was projected as the main candidate, but his charisma could not stop the Modi-wave in the elections. The position of the party became very clear in Uttar Pradesh (the mother son duo are representing the state for the last 2-3 terms and the state got extensive support for the party during the regime of Nehru, Indira & even Rajiv Gandhi). The state, in Lok Sabha elections gave just 2 MP seats to congress (those seats went for Sonia & Rahul Gandhi).

Immediately on results coming out, there was strong dissidence from many congress leaders demanding change in top brass of the party.Immediately following the LS elections , are the state assembly elections in Maharashtra & Haryana. These two states went for elections under the congress rule. Haryana has been under congress for the last 10 years whereas Maharasthra was under congress for 15 years.

Now with the recent results of assembly elections (of these two states) coming out there is dissidence among congress leaders reaching to higher level. The cadre is finding themselves as captain less. They are demanding that Priyanka Gandhi should be given total control of the party to ensure that the cadre is rejuvenated to face next elections in many states.

Just changing few leaders and bringing Priyanka into active politics is not the right solution for the problems faced by the congress. The party did many mistakes while in power in centre and states as well (in terms of numerous scams) and is now paying the price for the same. The congress leaders need to attach themselves with the common man and then only they can get a reasonable votes and seats in next elections.
