Yamaha FZ V2.0 Launched for Rs. 76250 – Offers Fuel Injection to beat Honda CBR150R, Hero Karizma and Bajaj Pulsar

Yamaha has finally launched the Version 2.0 variants of the FZ series in the Indian market and the launch was witnessed by the Bollywood Hunk, John Abraham. Indian bike lovers are waiting very eagerly to lay their hands on the new edition FZ bike and the teaser images revealed by the manufacturer have made them go crazy. The first preview of the Version 2.0 was made at the Auto Expo 2014 that was held in the month of February this year and the two wheelers have stood among some of the show stealers at the Expo.

Mr. Masaki Asano, the Managing Director for Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. Has stated in this connection “The FZ series has been a stellar performer ever since its launch in 2008. With the introduction of the new FZ and FZ-S armed with the next generation ‘Blue Core’ engine concept the new models are bound to offer power packed performance with improved fuel efficiency. ‘Blue Core’ is a developed ideal for new generation engines that take riding enjoyment, fuel efficiency and environmental performance to levels that have never been reached before. Moreover, the sporty look and aggressive styling of the new FZ models will surely appeal to today’s assertive generation”

The unique design of the FZ series has its own fan base across the world and it is one of the most sold 150 CC bikes in the Indian market since its debut. All the customized variants and refreshed variants of the series launched thereafter have also went successful and the 2.0 version is also expected to be a big hit in India. The refreshed version of the FZ comes with a number of cosmetic changes that have further enhanced the beauty of the vehicle. The front end gets a brand new head light and the instrument console has also been modified appreciable.

The rear end gets a brand new tail light and a new tail piece design that is very trendy when compared with that of the previous version bike. The addition of the tyre hugger has given a fresh look to the rear end and the size of the silencer has been reduced considerably. The new edition of the FZ series is reported to be lighter by up to 3 kilograms when compared with the former edition. A new set of tyres will be on offer with the Version 2.0 which are specially developed for ensuring extra durability and possess durability against punctures and bad weather conditions.

The most significant feature of the FZ Version 2.0 will be the revised engine. The new FZ comes powered with a 149 CC engine with fuel injection system which is found in very few models of the 150 CC segment in India. The respective engine is capable of generating around 13.1 PS power at the peak along with 12.8 Nm of torque. The former edition of the FZ bike was powered with a 153 CC engine that produced around 14 PS power and 13.6 Nm of torque. The new version of the bike comes with ‘Blue Core’ Technology that makes it around 14 % more fuel efficient than the former edition and the emission figures of the bike are around 33 % lesser relatively.

Yamaha is offering the brand new FZ – S V2.0 for Rs. 76250 only whereas the FZ – FI V2.0 is priced Rs. 78250 in India. FZ V2.0 has better chances for beating most of the rival models in the segment as all the other models with Fuel Injection System such as Honda CBR150 R and Yamaha’s own R15 V2.0 are much costlier comparatively.
