TV Channels Encouraging Fine Arts Through Competition

The various TV channels are constantly trying to encourage fine arts through various shows and competitions.

Vijayawada: Fine arts are part of society and are important for social development. These arts need to be protected and given encouragement for culture to flourish for generations together. Our TV channels are contributing their best to encourage the fine arts through various shows.

Music is one fine art. Singing & singers get encouraged by our various channels through programs. ETV has Paduta Teeyaga with SPB as anchor and host. This weekly program (being aired on every Monday night 9.30 hours) has already completed more than 400 episodes. After completing the 7th series in US, this program is conducting its 8th series.

MAA TV ran similar show with different name i.e., Super Singer. This show continued in 7 series and had good response from audience. Suma anchored for initial series and later on, Sagar stepped into the shoes to anchor the show.

Gemini TV is also in this fray through their program Bol Baby Bol. The various episodes have different specialities as that of Super Singer by MAA TV. Singer duo Shravana Bhargavi & Hemachandra have been anchoring this program.

Dance is another fine art. ETV is in the forefront of encouraging this art through their program Dhee. This program already completed 6 series. Udaya Bhanu’s anchoring has been special attraction and major contributor for this dance show. Many of the episodes of this program are having fantastic dance performance by the anchor Udaya Bhanu as well.

To cash the craze that the dance shows are getting, MAA TV also started Rangam. Incidentally, Udaya Bhanu is the anchor for this show as well.

Zee TV ventured into dance shows with Omkar as the anchor, host and producer. His shows under the name Aata (running into several series) gave good entertainment to the audience and also brought out the dancing talent from the participants. Some of the episodes involving children got criticism from public, society and courts and this became one of the reasons for abrupt ending of this otherwise wonderful dance show.

To encourage folk dance and culture, MAA is also promoting one show by name ‘Rela Re Rela’. This Udaya Bhanu anchored show also completed many series and attracted huge response.
