General Elections 2014: BJP Releases Third List of Candidates for Lok Sabha Polls

Bharatiya Janata Party released its third list of contestant for Lok Sabha elections. Sushma Swaraj is going to contest from Vidhisha. No decision is taken on the seats of Rajnath Singh and prime minister candidate Narendra Modi. Next list is going to be released on March 15.

New Delhi: BJP released its third list of candidates for Lok Sabha polls. The list consisted of 97 candidates including 25 for Bihar, 24 for Madhya Pradesh, 13 for Jharkhand, 14 for Kerala, 7 for West Bengal, 6 for Assam, 5 for Karnataka and two candidates for Maharashtra.

The names of 97 candidates were finalized in a meeting of party central election committee headed by party chief Rajnath Singh. Others who attended the meeting are Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Advani, Arun Jaitley and others. no decision is taken on seat allotment for Rajnath and Modi. The committee will again meet on 15th for taking decision on this.

The third Lok Sabha list of BJP has many prominent names such as Sushma Swaraj, Shahnaj Hussain, Lok sabha Deputy speaker Munda, R K Singh and others. RJD ex leader Ram Kripal Yadav will compete from Patali Putra in Bihar. Yashwant Sinha’s son Jayanth will compete from Hazari Bagh in Jharkhand, Pramod Mahajan’s daughter Punam will compete from Mumbai north-central opposite to Praya Dutt, who is congress candidate. Sushma swaraj is going to contest from Vidhisha constituency.

Decision is yet to be taken on many seats. No decision is taken on the seat of Narendra Modi nd Rajnath Singh. The decision on Shatraughan Sinha’s seat is also kept on hold. He is the sitting MP of Patna Sahib. The party seems to be asking Sinha to contest from Delhi but he is reluctant to do so. Next list of BJP is likely to be released on March 15.

Bharatiya Janata Party is going to contest for 450 seats for Lok Sabha elections. This decision was taken by the party parliamentary board. The leaders who attended the meeting discussed about alliance and merger of other parties. Sushma Swaraj and Venkaiah Naidu opined that there should not be any alliance with the parties whose leaders have no morals.
