Mid End Brand Fight: Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Vs Micromax Canvas Doodle 2
Samsung is undoubtedly the leader in Phablet market but it seems that the children brands are trying hard to change the quote. Comparing the two, both have almost similar appearance with pros and cons. The win will always be a Samsung product being a king, but Canvas Doodle 2 is not at all a disappointment.
Mumbai: Samsung and Micromax, both of the companies are getting larger and larger with every addition of smartphones in the stack. Yes i am talking about the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5. Now, which one will be the right for your hand, i will help you to decide.
Form: Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 has slightly larger 5.8 inch screen than Canvas Doodle 2 5.7 inch. Both of the smartphones have almost similar form factors. Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a dimension and weight as 162.6 x 82.4 x 9mm, 182g whereas the new Canvas Doodle 2 has a dimensions and weight as 161 x 82.5 x 8.9mm, 220g.
OS: Both of the device are powered by Android Jelly Bean’s latest OS which has to offer convinience eco system with additional functions of their UIs. Doodle 2 gain a point for gesture controls.
Display: Samsung Galaxy Mega comes with 5.8 inch TFT display having a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels ( with 190 ppi ) whereas the Canvas Doodle 2 comes with 5.7 inch TFT HD IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (with 257 ppi). Both of the handset is ideal for surfing, gaming and videos. Clearly canvas doodle 2 is a winner among the two.
Processor: Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a heart of 1.4 Ghz Dual core processor with a 1.5 Gb RAM, on the other hand Micromax cores a 1.2 GHz quad core Cortex A7 MTK processor with a 1 GB RAM. if we look at the processor, the compensation in Core and RAM is seen in both of
the handset making the device run seamlessly.
Camera: Galaxy Mega comes with 8 MP primary camera and a 1.9 MP front camera along with so many camera features which includes auto focus, geo tagging, touch focus, smile and face detection and also offers 1080p video recordings. On the other hand Canvas Doodle 2
sports a 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera with full HD video recording and other features. Although Doodle is a winner with its set up but Mega 5.8 doesn’t lag too.
Storage: Galaxy Mega offers 8 GB internal with an expanding ability of 64 GB whereas Doodle 2 offers 16 GB internal with no expanding ability, which is the major disadvantage in all respect.
Verdict: With well packed features and balanced specs, the canvas doodle 2 with quad cored,better display and camera can be a good choice. Overall winner its a Samsung mega 5.8 with a better brand name, service network and good feature in spite of not being among the popular smartphones by Samsung.
