Hyundai ‘Santa Fe’ and ‘Grand i10 sedan’ spotted – Can i10’s reputation dominate Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire?

We are just a few weeks away from the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo that will be held in the month of February and all the leading automotive giants have almost finished their strategies for this year’s show. Like other manufacturers, Hyundai too announced what they are going to bring forward at the show. But it seems like Hyundai is not yet ready for the show as the manufacturer is still testing few of its models that are going to be launched at the Delhi Auto Expo. An enthusiast has spotted test mules of both Santa Fe sedan and the Grand i10 sedan.

I10 hatch back is one of the most reputed models in the segment since its launch which has been dominated brutally by the ‘Grand i10’ recently. The success of both these models has made Hyundai to develop a sedan of the series, the ‘Grand i10 Sedan’ which is due to be launched at the Delhi Auto Expo this year. Prior to the official debut, test mules of the model have been caught with camouflage on their bodies a number of times already. But it was quite surprising for everybody to spot another test mule of the model just about 2-3 weeks before the official launch.

A test mule of the upcoming ‘Santa Fe’ sedan was also spotted beside the Grand i10 sedan and we have a clear picture of the sedan this time. The Grand i10 sedan sported the same seats and the dash board which was used in the hatch back version of the model. The front fascia looks almost similar expect having a different C pillar. Under the hood, the same 1.2 litre Kappa engine is going to be fitted and thus there might be slight difference in the performance among the hatch back and the sedan versions due to the difference in body weight.

Hyundai has used a 5 speed manual transmission gear box in the current edition of Grand i10 hatch back and the same is likely to get carried over in the sedan version too. But we have been informed in the past about a test mule of the model having an automatic transmission gear box. Thus we could expect the model to be available in both manual and automatic versions most probably.
