Can Salman’s Jai Ho be a Winner at the Box Office?
Since few months, there is a competition between ‘Khans’ in Bollywood. Shahrukh, Amir and Salman Khan are rewriting the collection records of their movies. In the year 2013 Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai express collected 226 cores.
Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan’s Dhoom collected Rs. 280 crore. Dhoom-3 was released in the end of 2013 and is creating records worldwide as far as the collections are concerned. Dhoom 3 collected Rs. 533 crore gross globally and Rs. 280 crores in Bollywood.
Dhoom 3 has Aamir Khan in the lead role and he has given a tough target for Sallu Bhai. Salman Khan is getting ready to chase the target with his new movie Jai Ho which is going to be released on January 24. Discussions are going on in Bollywood about whether Salman will be able to break the collection records of Aamir’s Dhoom 3 with is Jai Ho. Salman’s earlier films Dabaang collected Rs. 211 crores in 2011 and Ek Tha Tiger collected 263 crores in 2012.
Dhoom 3 collected 33 croes on the first day of its release. 2nd day collection was 30 crores, third day collections were 35 crores, fourth day collections were 17 crores, fifth day it collected 16 crores and seventh day collections were 12 crores. Salman’s earlier movies had mass and commercial elements but in the latest Jai Ho film, there are commercial elements as well as social elements. The movie is based on Telugu hit film Stalin that starred Chiranjeevi. The movie is going to be released tomorrow in 4500 theatres in India and 650 theatres abroad.
Salman changed his trend and got ready to experiment with his new movie Jai Ho and it has to be seen whether the movie will be loved by the audience or not. There seems to be no great chemistry between Salman Khan and the heroine Daisy which can be a major disappointment. This is not a typical Salman Khan film and the movie may fail to reach the expectations of his fans, it is said. Above all, Salman himself seems to be not sure of the success of Jai Ho. He himself said on one occasion that the movie has comedy, action, romance and everything but is very different from my regular films.
