Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2014 Notification Released: Apply before 12th January 2014

Indian Air Force releases notifications for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). Interested and eligible candidates have to apply before 12th January 2014.

Delhi: For grant of short service commission in Ground Duty, Flying, Technical branches, Indian Air Force release notifications for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). For this  admission test, registration is already started from 14th December 2014.  Interested and eligible candidates have to apply before 12th January 2014.

Courses offering under Ground Duty Branches is No. 30 Short Service Commission i.e. 30SSC course and No.137 Ground Duty Officers Course i.e. 137 GDOC course. Courses offering under Technical Branch are No.58 Short Service Commission i.e. 58 SSC Course and No.86 Aeronautical Engineers (86AEc) Course and No.58 Short Service Commission i.e. 58 SSC Course. Course offering under Flying Branch is No.15 Short Service Commission i.e. 15 SSC Course.

As per the notification released, separate education qualification required for different branches. For Ground Duty Branch, education qualification required for Accounts is Completion of B.Com with 60% marks or PG Degree or Diploma in commerce with 50 % marks. Educational qualification required for Administration and Logistics is completion of graduation in any discipline with minimum 60% of marks or completion of PG Diploma in any discipline with 50% of marks.

For the technical Branch, Educational Qualification for Aeronautical Engineering – Mechanical is Completion of 4 year degree from recognised university or cleared Section A and Section B Exam of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate membership of institutions of engineers.  Educational qualification required for Aeronautical Engineering- Electronics is completion of 4 year degree from any recognised university or cleared Section A and Section B Exam of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate membership of institutions of engineers.

For Flying Branch, Educational qualification is completion of graduation in any discipline from recognised university who have attained 60% marks in aggregate in all the papers. Along with this candidates need to pass Physics and Maths at 10+2 level. Interested and eligible candidates need to apply online through career website of IAF. Candidates will be selected based on the AFCAT 2014. Aspirants who have successfully completed the entrance test have to go through Medical test and interview.
