Newly Launched Smartphones Faceoff: Micromax Canvas 4 vs. Huawei Ascend P1
This is a comparison between the newly launched Micromax’s smartphone the Canvas 4 and Huawei’s smartphone the Huawei Ascend P1. Both phones can be said to be high-end smartphone in their own rights and they both comprise of great useful innovation from their manufacturers:
New Delhi: The following review looks at various features from the Huawei Ascend P1 smartphone against the Micromax Canvas 4 smartphone. From which we can conclude which of the two is superior to the other.
- Display: Canvas 4 has a 5 inched IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixel HD resolution coupled by 294 ppi pixel density. While the Ascend P1 has a 4.3 inched qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960×540 pixels resolution with 256 ppi pixel density. Both of these device have the Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
- Processor & Ram: Micromax Canvas 4 operates on Android 4.2.1 Jellybean with the MT6592 quad core 1.2GHz MediaTek ARM Cortex A7 processor under the hood with support from the PowerVR SGX544 graphics and a 1GB RAM. While the Huawei Ascend P1 run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and underneath the hood lays the 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor with a 1GB RAM and support by PowerVR SGX540 graphics.
- Camera: Ascend P1 has an 8MP rear-camera fitted with dual LED Flash and a 1.3MP front-camera. While the Canvas 4 has 13MP rear-camera with LED Flash and autofocus and a 5MP front-camera.
- Battery Backup: A 1670mAh battery powers the Ascend P1 while a 2000mAh battery powers the Canvas 4.
- Connectivity: The two smartphones have the 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, HSPA+, Bluetooth and GPS. However in addition to this the Canvas 4 has Dual SIM support.
- Prices: Micromax Canvas 4 sells at a price around Rs 17,999 while the Huawei Ascend P1 sells at around Rs 12,490.
Verdict: Ascend P1 scores highly in terms of thinness while the Canvas 4 compensates for this by having a better display. Generally, comparatively speaking the Canvas 4 performs better in most aspects compared to the Ascend P1. Then based on informed judgment the Micromax Canvas 4 is crowned the winner when compared to the Huawei Ascend P1.
