28.11.2013: Firoz Fatma became First Female Crorepati in Kaun Banega Crorepati. She is just 22 years old and belongs to Uttar Pradesh. Currently running Kaun Banega Crorepati is 7th session of TV Quiz show. Amitabh Bachchan hosts this show. Firoz attained knowledge by reading news papers and watching news channel. Her aim is to wipe off her deceased father debts.

28.11.2013: UNICEF’s First Chief Ambassador for South Asia is Sachin Tendulkar. For two years he will for promoting sanitation and hygiene in the south Asian Region. Sachin already involved with UNICEF’s campaign for hand washing and Polio.

Hari D Upadhyaya Received Crop Science Research Award

28.11.2013: Hari D Upadhyaya Received Crop Science Research Award from Crop Science Society of America. He is the Principal Scientist (Groundnut) and head of gene bank at the international Crops Research Institute for the Semi Arid Tropics. Hari received this award at Tampa in Florida. He achieved this award for his contributions in crop science.

28.11.2013: GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders ad Engineers Limited) Attained Best Performing Shipyard Award for 2011-12 by Ministry of Defence. It has received this award for customer satisfaction through quality improvement, Research and Development, cost Reduction and for Organisational Excellence.

Norms for NBFCs in Insurance Joint Venture relaxed by RBI

28.11.2013: RBI has relaxed norms in the insurance Joint Ventures for participation of NBFCs (Non Banking Finance Companies) by allowing them to hold more than 50% in such companies.

Affordable Health Insurance Plans for SBT customer

28.11.2013: SBI General Insurance and State Bank of Travancore jointly launched an affordable health insurance plan for SBT Customers. For 35 years old adult, cost of the policy is Rs.1300 per year. This will cover Rs.1lakh. That means cost per day for that adult is only Rs.3.56 per day.

At C Wealth Championship, Indian Lifter won 87 Medals

28.11.2013: At C Wealth Championship, Indian Lifter won 87 Medals. Out of which 6 gold medals were won by Young Lifter and Youth Asian Games Champion Ragala Venkat Rahul. In total India won 47 gold, 28 Silver and 12 bronze medals. Sivalingam Sathish Kumar won 3 gold Medals in senior men’s division.

FIFA World Ranking announced

28.11.2013: Latest FIFA world ranking announced. Portugal placed in 9th position. Brazil is in 10th place. Uruguay is at 6th place while Colombia remains at 4th position. 7th place occupied by Italy, Switzerland is in 8th position where as Netherlands is in 9th place.

28.11.2013: For the first time, researchers discovered Two Sub glacial Lakes hiding below Greenland Ice Sheet. These lakes are hiding 800meters below. These lakes are likely to influence global sea level and flow of the ice sheet. Lakes help to discover the changes in the environmental conditions.

Music Album released to commemorate 150th birth day of Vivekananda

28.11.2013: Music Album released to commemorate 150th birth day of Vivekananda. This was released by Union Minister of State for Human Resources, Jitin Prasada. This album contains original poems of Swami Vivekananda. These poems sung by 11 years old twin sisters named Amrutaa Vibho and Akshayaa Vibho. They belong to Delhi.

State Law cannot prevail over Central rules on Sand Mining

29.11.2013: NGT (National Green Tribunal) ruled that State Law cannot prevail over Central rules on Sand Mining. By dismissing the Madhya Pradesh Plea, NGT gave this judgement that its district level environment committees be treated as competent authority for grant of clearance of such activity. NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar is heading the bench. He refused to modify its order banning illegal sand mining across the country.

An Agreement between European Union and Egypt

28.11.2013: With the intension to provide financial assistance to Egypt, European signed into an agreement. Financial assistance is worth of Rs.122 million dollars. These funds will be used to improve for unplanned housing, reaching out to the most impoverished areas, to increase the children’s access to education. This agreement was signed by Ziad Bahaaeeddin Deputy Prime Minister of Egypt and Catherine Marie Ashton EU Foreign policy Chief. Agreement was done at Brussels.

28.11.2013: Election Portals was set up by Google in India. This portal will provide information relating to politics and polls in India. It will also give information about political parties. This portal will give solutions to the questions of the voters in India and clear voting relating queries. Initially this portal will provide some videos reacted to the state elections in Mizoram, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh.

28.11.2013: Scientific deep drilling investigation in Koyna intra plate Seismic Zone approved by CCEA (Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs). For 5 years, total cost of the project is Rs.472.3 crores. This investigation will provide the unique opportunity to understand the mechanism of reservoir triggered earthquakes better.
