University of Calcutta Offering PhD in Sanskrit: Written Test on 27th November 2013
University of Calcutta, department of Sanskrit is inviting applications for PhD course in Sanskrit. Only 15 seats are available. Written test and interview will be conducted for admission. Apply on or before 13th November 2013.
Calcutta: University of Calcutta, department of Sanskrit is invited applications for PhD course in Sanskrit. Aspirants who are interested to do research work in Sanskrit can apply for this course. They can have the application forms from department of Sanskrit, University of Calcutta, after paying 100/- at college campus cash counter. Duly filled application has to submit at Department of Sanskrit, Calcutta university, 87/1 college Street Campus, 2nd floor of Harding Building, Kolkata, West Bengal.
Aspirants have to send the application on or before 13th November 2013. Only 15 seats are available. Written test will be conducted for the eligible candidates. If candidate qualified in the written test, they have to face the personal interview to have the admission for this course. Written test will be held on 27th November 2013. Test will be conducted for 70 marks. Syllabus for the test consists of Viva Voce, Comprehension in Sanskrit, Short questions in English or in Sanskrit and Paragraph writing. This paragraph should consist of minimum 500 words.
As per the notification, Aspirants who have qualified under UGC/ JRF examination or NET /SET or passed M Phil are exempted to write the examination. They have to appear directly to the interview. Written test results will be announced on 16th December 2013. Qualified candidates will be called for the interview on 23rd December 2013.
