Sony has just launched the Xperia C for Rs 20,499 which is up against the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos which has been a popular choice for many from a long time. We compare both of these to find out which one emerges as the better one. 

Since there are numerous smartphones available in the market, it becomes difficult to make a choice. Thus, we think its time to compare a few. Let us have a comparative look at Sony Xperia C and Galaxy Grand Duos:

Display: Both the device carry a capacitive touch display of 5 inches. However, Xperia C offers 540 x 960 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 220 ppi while Galaxy Grand Duos provides 480 x 800 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 187 ppi.

Processor: Xperia C has been powered by a quad core processor of 1.2 GHz while the Galaxy Grand Duos has been equipped with a dual core processor of 1.2 GHz.

Operating System: Xperia C function on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and Galaxy Grand Duos works on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

Memory: Both the devices carry RAM of 1 GB. Xperia C offers 4 GB internal memory and up to 32 GB expandable memory, where as, Galaxy Grand Duos offers 8 GB internal memory and up to 64 GB expandable memory.

Camera: Both the smartphones has been loaded with an 8 mega pixel rear camera. Xperia C features a front facing camera of 0.3 mega pixels while Galaxy Grand Duos comes with a 2 mega pixel front facing camera.

Connectivity Features: Both the devices offer connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, Wi-Fi direct and 3G. Xperia C also offers DLNA and MHL Out.

Other Features: Both the device feature FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, dual SIM, accelerometer, compass and proximity sensor. Xperia C is available in purple, white and black color variants where as Galaxy Grand Duos is available in blue and white color variants.

Battery: Xperia C works on a non removable battery of 2390 mAh while Galaxy Grand Duos runs on a removable battery of 2100 mAh.

Our Take: After a good look at the features, my verdict is in favor of Sony Xperia C.
