Sachin Tendulkar Playing his Last Ranji Match: Mumbai Vs Haryana Match from Today
Sachin Tendulkar is going to retire from cricket after the West Indies test series next month. Sachin is playing his last Ranji series which is going to begin from today. The match is going to be played at Lahli, Rohtak.
Rohtak: Sachin Tendulkar is playing his last Ranji match. Sachin is going to retire from first class cricket next month after the test series with West India. He will be playing in the first Ranji trophy match going to begin on Sunday. The match will be played between Mumbai and Haryana.
2013-14 Ranji season is beginning. Twenty seven teams compete in this event. The teams are divided into A, B and C groups. Each group has nine teams. Since Sachin is playing in the first match in Lahli, it is expected that large number of audience will come to watch the game. Sachin practiced for four days in Wankhede stadium for this match. Sachin is expecting to utilize this match to get some practice before playing his last test match of the career next month. Mumbai is the defending champion of Ranji matches and Indian senior pacer Zaheer Khan is leading the team. This match is also crucial for Zaheer who wants to come back into Indian team for the Windies series.
Lahli is a small village in Haryana which is located at 15 kilometer away from Rohtak district head quarters. This small village in new now as it is going to host the Ranji test match in which Sachin is playing. Haryana cricket association is leaving no stone unturned for the match. Stadium is painted freshly, new curtains are arranged. Sachin’s photos are kept in the dressing rooms and other rooms of the stadium. New equipment is added to the gym. The place where Sachin will be staying is also decorated specially. A chef is ready specially to cook for Sachin. There was great demand for the tickets.
Sachin is going to use a new bat in this series. Sachin’s bats are made by Somi Kohli. He says that he is making bats for Sachin since 20 years. Sachin seems to have suggested some changes for his new bat. A special English willow bat is made for him. The new bat is 35-40 grams lighter than his earlier bat.
Meanwhile Hyderabad and Andhra teams will be playing their first match in Ranji series on Sunday at Uppal stadium in Hyderabad. With incessant rains since three days, it has to be seen whether the match will b played or not.
