It is expected to hit the Indian shores early next year at an attractive price tag of Rs 22,000 at which it will pretty much be the choice of the masses.
In the past couple of years, we have witnessed Nokia doing well with its giant screen Windows based smartphones. This time once again, the company has brought out a 6 inch Windows based phablet, Nokia Lumia 1320 which was codenamed ‘Batman’.
The device was recently unveiled at Nokia World 2013 at Abu Dhabi. The budget phablet may not have a power packed processor or a super fine camera like its elder sibling Lumia 1520 but it offers many moderate features which budget buyers will find considerable.
Let us look at its features and specifications-
. Display- 6 inches, 720p Clear Black display panel with 3 three capacitive touch buttons for back, home and Bing search – a standard Windows Phone affair.
. Processor, Chipset and RAM- 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM
. Camera- 5MP autofocus primary camera with single LED flash light
. Memory- 8 GB internal memory with expansion capacity via microSD card
. Operating System- Windows Phone 8 GDR 3 OS with Nokia Black top up
Battery- 3400 mAh battery to provide approximately 350 hours of standby time and 14 hours of 2G talktime
It will be available for sale starting the next year. The device will be first rolled out in China and Vietnam before being rolled out in rest of the Asia and Europe. It will be available in orange, yellow, black and white colors. Its global price has been kept at $339.
When it comes to India in mid 2014, expect it to be priced around Rs 22,000-24,000. For someone who is looking a budget phone with Windows operating system and an array of features with Nokia’s durability, this could be an ideal device. However, we all know that the segment is highly competitive with offerings from Micromax, Samsung, Karbonn and many others. So, let’s wait till it comes to India to see how it fares here.
