JEE Advanced-2014 on May 25, 2014: IIT, Kharagpur Releases JEE Advanced Notification

IIT, Kharagpur released notification for JEE Advanced 2014. One and half lakh candidates who qualify in JEE Main 2014 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advance. JEE Main is likely to be held on April 6.

Hyderabad: JEE Advanced 2014 entrance test will be held on May 25. IIT Kharagpur issued notification for JEE Advanced 2014. The exam will be held from 9.00 ma to 12.00 (first paper) and 2pm to 5 pm (Paper-2).

JEE Main 2014 is conducted for admission into NITs. One and half lakh candidates who are in the merit list of JEE Main 2014 will get qualified for JEE Advanced 2014. 50.5 percent of candidates will be selected from common merit list of JEE-Main, 27 percent candidates will be selected from OBC merit list, 15% from SC merit list and 7.5 percent from ST merit list. The selection will be based on the merit of the candidates in JEE Main exam.

Candidates who are qualified for JEE Advanced 2014 have to submit their applications immediately after the announcement of JEE Main. Women candidates are exempted from paying the exam fee. OBC category male candidates have to pay Rs. 2,000; SC/ST/PWD category candidates have to pay Rs. 1,000 and foreign students have to pay $ 22. In Andhra Pradesh, exam centres for IIT entrance test are Nellore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Warangal and Hyderabad.

Paper-1 and Paper-2 of the IIT-JEE Main entrance test will have physics, chemistry and mathematics sections separately. JEE Main exam is likely to be conducted on 6th April, 2014. Joint Entrance Examination is conducted for admission into various undergraduate programmes offered by NITs, IITs and other technical institution funded by the states. Candidates who are interested to pursue their undergraduate courses in IITs have to qualify in JEE Main exam so that they can appear for JEE Advanced exam.
