Due to the agitations in Seemandhra Intermediate colleges lost 26 working days.  The exams are going to begin from March 12, as indicated by Board of Intermediate.  Practical exams will begin from February 12.  Tenth class public examination will also get delayed by one week, it is said.

Hyderabad: Intermediate 2014 public exams are going to begin one week late.  It was decided that Intermediate exams will begin from Marc 12 next year.  Usually, the intermediate exams were to begin in the first week of March.  But due to Samaikyandhra movement in Seemandhra region, colleges did not run properly.  The intermediate board is discussing whether to postpone the exams for a few days.

JEE Mains is going to be conducted on 6th April, 2014; Advanced on 25th May, 2014 and EAMCET also is usually conducted in May. Thus it was decided that the exams should be conducted in March itself.  Thus a primary decision is taken to conduct the exams from March 12 and practical exams from February 12th, 2014.

Junior colleges in Seemandhra lost 26 working days due to agitations.  The colleges were to begin from 17th October after Dussehra vacations.  But in Seemandhra districts, the colleges will reopen from 15th.  The colleges will also work on Sundays in Seemandhra districts.  Working hours of the colleges are also increased.  The colleges which were to begin at 9.00 am will now start at 8.00 am.  The increased working hours should be utilized not for study hours but to complete the syllabus.  Holidays will be on 2nd November for Diwali, December 25 for Christmas, 3 days for Sankranthi (On 13th, 14th and 15th January) only.  In all the remaining days, the colleges will run even on Sundays.

Intermediate education commissioner JSV Prasad and intermediate board secretary Ramshankar Nayak held tele conference with district authorities and RJD’s on the changes made in the timings and holidays.  The quarterly exams that were to hold in September are also cancelled for this year.  Unit tests will be held from November 18.

Meanwhile, tenth class exams, which are also going to be delayed by one week. The lost working days in Seemandhra will be adjusted.
