Lenovo P780 with massive battery life launched for Rs 18,099

Lenovo mobiles has been pursuing an aggressive strategy for the Indian smartphone market and in a bid to further increase the grip over the segment, has launched a budget quad core smartphone with a battery size so massive that will make some of the flagships shy.

Lenovo is slowly getting its feet right in the arena of smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. Off late, it has launched a couple of new devices and cutting off the prices of a few.  One of these devices is Lenovo P 780 smartphone. It was announced way back in May this year but took eternity to reach the market. Finally it is available for sale in the country for Rs 18,099. The smartphone comes with a 4,000 mAh battery which is double the battery on offer by devices in the same segment. 

Here are the main features of Lenovo P 780:

·         5 inches (1280 x 720 pixel) capacitive IPS LCD multi touch display that supports 16 million colors.

·         1.2 GHz Cortex A7 quad core processor

·         Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System

·         1 GB RAM, internal memory of 4 GB and expandable storage of up to 32 GB by using MicroSD card slot

·         Primary camera of 8 MP with auto focus, touch to focus, geo tagging, face detection and LED flash features. It also carries a 1.2MP secondary camera for video calling and self photographs

·         2G EDGE, 3G,  Bluetooth, Micro USB, Wi-Fi and GPRS et al options for connectivity

·         Dual SIM (2G+3G) with dual standby

·          3.5 mm audio jack, loudspeaker and FM Radio.

·         4, 000 mAh Li-polymer battery to give a standby time of about 840 hours, 25 hours’ talk time on 3G and 43 hours’ talk time on 2G.

Verdict: The device can be availed for just Rs. 18, 099. With its powerful processor, battery and interface features, it seems like a good value for money pick at this price point. However, it will have to face off with many counterparts from Nokia, Micromax and Karbonn for its price. The device is available through online retailers as well as Lenovo stores.
