Xolo Q1000S is here to rival the Canvas 4 and we compare the both of them for you.

Micromax and Xolo are two companies that have been manufacturing Android enabled Smartphones which does not only offer some of the most amazing features but also fit well within the budget of a common man. These two firms are steadily creating their own place and reputation in the market. The latest Xolo Smartphone to enter market is Xolo Q1000S which is now being weighed against Micromax Canvas 4.

Let us have a comparative look at the two Smartphones.

Xolo Q1000S is 6.98 mm thick. It is slim, sleek and stylish in design. Where as, Micromax Canvas 4 is 144.5 x 73.0 x 8.9 mm in dimension, therefore, comparatively heavier. Both the phones are dual SIM. Xolo Q1000S as well as Micromax Canvas 4 are premium Smartphones with an IPS display of 5 inches. However, Canvas 4 offers better resolution. The pixel density of Micromax Canvas 4 is 294 ppi.

The Xolo Q1000S has been equipped with OGS technology and is expected to come with Dragon tail glass to offer display protection. On the other hand, Canvas 4 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass LCD touch screen. Canvas 4 works with 1.2 Giga Hertz MediaTek Cortex A7 quad-core processor. However, Xolo Q1000S has a better processor as it comes with 1.5 Giga Hertz MediaTek quad core processor.

Micromax Canvas 4 runs on Android v4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Where as, the operating system of Xolo Q1000S is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Both the Smartphones come with 1GB of RAM. Micromax Canvas 4 provides 16 GB of storage capacity with 10 GB of user memory. It also has expandable memory up to 32 GB with the help of a Micro SD card.

Though the storage capacity of Xolo Q1000S is also 16 GB, it does not offer any option to expand storage capacity. Thus, in terms of memory, Micromax Canvas 4 is a better option.

Micromax Canvas 4 provides it users with a rear camera of 13 megapixels with 5 element lenses. It also provides features such as auto focus, capability to take panorama shots vertically and LED flash support. It also has a front facing camera of 5 megapixels and HD 720p video recording option. Xolo Q1000S, too, has a 5 megapixel front facing camera and a 13 megapixel rear camera but it comes with BSI 2 sensor that enables improved low light photography. Micromax Canvas 4 also offers FM Radio with recording feature which is not available in Xolo Q1000S.

In terms of battery, Xolo Q1000S has an edge over Micromax Canvas 4. Micromax Canvas 4 comes with a 2,000 mAh battery that offers standby time of about 220 hours and talk time of about 8 hours. Whereas, Xolo Q1000S comes with a 2,500 mAh battery with standby time of 425 hours and talk time of about 22.5 hours. With a better battery back up, Micromax could have made Canvas 4 an exceptionally fine Android phone.

In terms of network, both the Smartphones offer 2G as well as 3G connectivity. They both also offer Bluetooth, GPRS and Wi-Fi features. Unlike Xolo Q1000S, Micromax Canvas provides infrared feature too. As far as the prices areconcerned, there is not much difference. Micromax Canvas 4 is available for Rs. 17,999 where as Xolo Q1000S can be purchased for Rs. 18,999.

Our take: Overall, both the phones make use of brilliant technology and provide great features. The major point to focus on is that Canvas 4 offers better memory and camera features where as Xolo provides better battery life. My opinion is in the favor of Micromax Canvas 4.
