Last date for CAT 2013 Registration is September 26

CAT 2013 registration process end on September 26.  Electronic vouchers for CAT 2013 registration are available from August 5.  Cat will be conducted from October 16 to November 11. The results are scheduled to be released on January 14, 2013.

New Delhi: candidates who want to apply for CAT 2013 have to register before September 26.  The electronic vouchers for registration fee are available since August 5th.  These have to filled with details of education history, mark sheets, work experience etc.  the vouchers can also be procured from selected Axis bank branches.  More details about the registration process can be obtained from www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in and www.prometric.com.  These vouchers can also be purchased directly from IIMs.

Electronic voucher for CAT 2013 registration costs Rs. 1600 for general category candidates.  The cost is Rs. 800 for OBC, schedules caste, scheduled tribes and physically challenged candidates.  Candidates can visit the official website of CAT www.cat2013.iimdr.ac.in to get the information about non-IIM institutes that consider CAT score for admissions.

All the eligible candidates can purchase the voucher, create a profile for registering for CAT 2013, fill the CAT application and schedule the test.

CAT is conducted in rotation system and this year IIM Indore is conducting the exam.  An additional 115 seats will be available this year increasing the business schools seats to 3335.  Near two lakh students appear for CAT every year and this year the number is expected to be increased.  Apart from IIMs another 125 business schools will admit students based on CAT rank.  But the candidates have to submit their applications in advance to join these institutes.

Compared to previous year, there are not many changes in CAT 2013.  It will have two sections.  The first section will contain questions from quantitative ability and data interpretation.  The second section will contain verbal ability and logical reasoning.  Duration of the exam is 140 minutes.  The candidates have to answer 30 questions in one section in 70 minutes.  CAT is going to be held from October 16 to November 11.  There are examination centers in more than 40 cities in India.  The results are expected to be announced on January 14, 2013.

Common Admission Test is most popular with most of the students who are studying final year of graduations.  CAT is held for admitting students in to thirteen Indian Institute of Managements in India.  Based on the CAT percentile candidates will be called for group discussion, written ability and personal interview by IIMs.  For 2013-15 admissions, all IIMS except one institute are conducted written ability test in place of group discussion.
