Prem Bhatia award won by Shalini Singh
12.07.2013: Prem Bhatia award won by Shalini Singh who is the deputy editor for The Hindu Paper. She got this award for political Reporting. She will be given Rs.1.5 lakhs as prize money for this award. Shalini will give money to PM National Relief Fund. For the Environmental Reporting, Jaideep Hardikar also got Prem Bhatia award. Awards will be given on August 11th.
Pran Krishan Sikand is no more
12.07.2013: Pran Krishan Sikand is the Bollywood actor is no more. He died in Mumbai at Lilawati Hospital. In May 2013 he got Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He acted in 350 films. In 2000, star dust has given Villain of the Millennium. Padma Bhushan Award was received in 2001. He is popularly known as Pran.
Amar G Bose is no more
12.07.2013: Amar G Bose is no more. He is the Indian America engineer. Amar is well known to all as an inventor of Bose Audio Systems. He is chairman and Managing director of Bose Corporation. He passes away in his home at Wayland which is at Massachusetts. Amar’s son Vanu G Bose has given an official announcement regarding his death.
Ottavio Quattrocchi passes away
12.07.2013: Ottavio Quattrocchi passes away. He is the main culprit in the Boforce scam. Ottavio died due to heart attack. He is an Italian business man. His son is in India from past 10 days due to business work. Boforce scam has happened in 1986 when Bofors Company (Swedish) who is the manufacturer of arms had an agreement with India to supply guns (Howitzer). Ottavio has acted as a middle man in that contract. At that time scam has happened.

12.07.2013: $ 2, 50,000 Engineering prize was awarded Canadian built Helicopter. This award is very old award. From several decades this award is giving to several people. Open challenge has given to all to got this award. This challenge is to make flying machine which can fly for at least 30 seconds in the air with the help of human power. Atlas is the name of the winning vehicle. This was made by young professional along with 20 students.
Planet which is outside the solar system is in blue colour
12.07.2013: For the first time Astronomers recognised the colour of the planet which is located outside the solar system. Colour of that planet is blue. Scientists are using Hubble Space Telescope to see this planet. By using this Telescope they have stated that this planet is called as HD 189733B. This is located 63 light years away.

12.07.2013: Dr.Reddy’s has launched Generic Decitabine Injection in the US Market. This is used for the cancer treatment. Company got permission from US Health Regulator to introduce the injection into the market. It has also taken permission from USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration).

12.07.2013: Audi is known for the manufacturing of Luxurious cars. Sedan S6 car was launched in India. It is having features like electrically adjustable sports seats and four zone air conditioner. In 2012, a sale of this company is 9003 units and aim at 20 % increase in this year. Showroom price of Delhi is Rs.85.99 lakhs. This is the German based company.
China opened largest building of the world
12.07.2013: China opened largest building of the world. It looks like rectangular box made up of steel. In order to see the sun set it consists of huge LED screens. Building structure is 100 meters high and width is 400 meters. It consists of ice rink, shopping complex, offices and movie theatre with 14 screens. This is located in Chengdu which is in south west china. It is named as New Century Global Centre.
First overseas branch has started by Axis bank in UK
12.07.2013: First overseas branch has started by Axis bank in UK. On April 19th it got licence from UK Regulators. Bank makes advances and accepts deposits. Cyril Anand is the CEO and MD of UK Axis bank. He has stated that, bank will be doing all the activities (Retail banking, Corporate banking) through its branch. Branch was started at King Street London.
Customer Identification (KYC) is must when selling funds above Rs.50, 000: RBI
12.07.2013: RBI has passed order to all the banks that Customer identification is must for the person who are coming to the banks to sell the gold, mutual funds, insurance or any other products which is above Rs.50, 000. At the same time banks has to check whether they were following the anti money laundering rules or not.
Srilanka increased the Import duty on the onion
12.07.2013: Srilanka has increased the import duty to protect the local farmers. Previously import duty is Rs.15 per Kg. Now it is increased to Rs.30 per Kg. This is huge hit to the Indian farmers as most of the onions are importing from India itself. Every month Srilanka is importing 6000 mt from India.

12.07.2013: Company of IVRCL is having three divisions. They are power, water and Building. Each division has its own contacts. All together company got Rs.1097.57 crores contracts. Building division is having Rs.573.12 crores, power business got Rs.52.63 crores orders and water division got Rs.471.82 crores orders. Major projects of the company are Kuwaits Ministry of Public works, Bihar government contract which is for the renovation and extension of Patna high court.
