Akshay Tritiya is on 13th May: Purchase Gold coins at India Post and Get 7% Discount
Hyderabad: Most of the Hindus believe that purchasing gold on Akshay Tritiya is very auspicious. Usually there are huge sales of gold during the Akshay Tritiya day. Since the past few years, gold prices kept on increasing but this year gold prices dropped unexpectedly and everybody is eagerly waiting for the Akshay Tritiya day which falls on 13th of this month.
There are expectations that since the prices of gold dropped there will good sales for this Akshay Tritiya and few more are expecting that many people already purchased gold and so the sales will not be good. Irrespective of all these expectations, jewellery shops and gold coins sales manufacturers are making arrangements for Akshay Tritiya.
Post office announced 7% discount on gold coins for Akshay Tritiya. This offer will be available till 30th June and India post will sell half gram to 50 gram gold coins.
Titan Nebula announced special discount on golden watches made in 18 carat gold. This offer will be available till 19th May and those who purchase watches worth Rs. 80,000 or more will be given free 22 carat 4 gram gold. Two gram gold coins will be given free for those who purchase less than Rs. 80,000 worth watches. More than 100 models are available under this offer. The price of these watches ranges from Rs. 29,000 to 3.75 lakhs, informed Titan.
State Bank of India said that they used to offer discount on gold coins on Akshay Tritiya but this year they have not received any orders to this effect. Many jewellery shop owners are commenting that the situation now does not allow announcing any new offers but they are making special arrangements for the sales.
People who can afford are showing interest to purchase diamonds and platinum on Akshay Tritiya day. Companies are launching new products into the market to attract these customers. GRT Jewellers launched new pure platinum ornaments into the market. The price of these ornaments range from Rs. 10,000. They are also offering buy-back offer.
Most of the bans are not selling any gold coins for this Akshay Tritiya. With RBI’s restrictions on gold imports, many banks are not selling any gold. Syndicate bank, SBI and Andhra bank officials informed that there is no supply of gold coins. SBI officials informed that only coins below 10 grams weight are available with them now. They also informed that ten days ago, people stood in queues and bought 50 and 100 gram gold coins. Private Banks also informed that they are not concentring on selling gold coins for this Akshay Tritiya because of RBI restrictions. Online portals that sell gold coins said that there is increase in the sales of gold coins due to gold price drop.
