Mumbai: India is becoming an important market for many mobile manufacturing companies.  Mobile companies based in various countries are launching their handsets in India as it is one of the largest markets in the world.  Chinese companies are also looking towards India as they are popular with the Indian masses.  UMI Mobiles is one of the Chinese companies.  The company launched a new handset UMI S1 handset with quad core processor in India.

In appearance the UMI S1 looks similar to HTC Butterfly.  Nothing in the design seems to be original in UMI S1 as the S1 logo on it also looks similar to Samsung Galaxy S series handset logo.  The handset is supposed to rung on Android operating system.

UMI S1 is launched in India and is offered with a price tag of Rs. 12,000.  It sports 5 inch display with 720 pixel resolution.  It comes loaded with MTK6589 quad core processor.  Other features of the handset include 1 GB of RAM and micro SD card slot for expansion of memory.  The handset is provided with 8 GB of internal memory.  It comes equipped with 8 megapixel rear camera.  There is also a 2 megapixel front camera which can be used for video calling.  The battery inside is 2020 mAh battery.  The handset comes with dual SIM capabilities.
