Bangalore: In a thrilling match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai team in a match played at Bangalore in the ongoing IPL tourney.  Mumbai bowlers restricted Bangalore team with their wonderful bowling.  Gales helped the tam score to cross 150 marks by hitting some great shots at the end of the innings.

Royal challengers Bangalore won the first match in IPL sixth season. Royal challengers won a match played with Mumbai Indians at Bangalore by two run.  Bangalore put a target of 157 runs before Mumbai but restricted it to 154 runs in specified overs.

Dinesh Kartik, playing for Mumbai fought till the end for the victory of his team.  He scored 60 runs in 37 balls. His score included 3 fours and 4 sixes.  In six balls the team needed 10 runs.  But it could not score the required ten runs for victory and gifted the match to Royal Challengers, Bangalore.  Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting played well. Vinay Kumar claimed two crucial wickets at the end of the match.  Earlier, Bangalore scored 156 runs for the loss of five wickets.  Chris Gale stood not out with 92 runs.  His score included 11 fours and 5 sixes.  Captain Virat Kohli scored 19 runs.

Mumbai bowler claimed three wickets and restrict Bangalore to 156 runs.  Harbhajan and Johnson claimed one wicket each.  Mumbai began chasing the target slowly.  Ponting and Sachin were the openers and they took some time to settle in the crease.  After settled down both started hitting the ball to boundaries.  The score of Mumbai was 11 runs in three overs and by 7 overs the score was 50 runs.  At this point, Sachin was run out and immediate Ponting was also stamped.  Mumbai needed 94 runs in 61 balls then. Later Dinesh Kartik and Rohit Sharma tried to get some runs.  Both these players added 26 runs to the third wickets.

In an over bowled by Christian, Dinesh Kartik hit 3 sixes and one 4.  He was supported by Ambati Rayudu after Rohit Sharma lost his wicket.  In the last over of the match, Mumbai needed 10 runs to win the match.  A single runs was scored in the fist ball.  Dinesh tries to hit a huge shot in the second ball and gave catch to Agarwal at the boundary line.  Rayudu was bowled in the next ball.  Bhajji scored a single in the fourth ball.  Pollard hit a four in the next ball.  Four runs were needed off the last ball.  But Pollard scored a single.

Christ Gale in the hero of the match.  He scored half century in just 36 balls.  He stood not out on 92 runs and helped Bangalore team to cross 150 runs mark.
