Yamaha to Launch 125 cc Scooter in 2013
New Delhi: The two wheeler manufacturers seem to concentrate on introducing new models of scooters in Indian market in the year 2013. Bajaj announced that they will introduce a new scooter and bring back golden days for the scooter. Vespa also said that it will unveil a 125 cc scooter soon in Indian market. Honda is also expected to introduce Aviator, Dio and Activa scooters in the Indian market. The new scooters of Honda come with Honda Eco Technology engines. The scooter market in India is booming and Yamaha does not want to be missed in the game.
Yamaha launched Ray scooter in 2012. Yamaha Ray was for women and the company now has announced that they will launch a larger macho scooter soon. Targeting the male buyers, the scooter is expected to have front telescopic suspension. Yamaha’s new scooter may come equipped with a four stroke; single cylinder air cooled 125 cc engines. The engine is expected to release more power than Ray scooter. The engine will offer automatic transmission and electric starter. The scooter is expected to be a gearless scooter and give tough competition to Honda Activa, Aviator and Suzuki access. There will be telescopic front forks. The scooter price may range from Rs. 40,000 to 50,000. No motorcycles will be released by Yamaha till the year 2013, it is said by the officials of the company. The new scooter from Yamaha can be expected to be released in mid 2013.
Yamaha launched its scooter Ray in the year 2012. Top speed of the vehicle is 85 kph. There are telescopic front suspensions and unit swing rear suspension. The scooter has 130 mm drum brakes at rear and front. The scooter is offer with a warranty of two years are 24,000 kms. Other features of the scooter are the self start, passenger foot rest, speedometer, step up seat, low fuel indicator, low oil indicator, low battery indicator etc. the scooter is provided with automatic gears. Dimensions of the scooter are 1835 mm length, 675 width and 1075 heights. The scooter weighs 104 kgs.
