Xperia Z Phablet Phone from Sony: Specifications
Las Vegas: Sony will be introducing a handset which can be an alternative option to Samsung Phablets for the consumers. A five inch HD display smartphone is expected to be released by Sony. The smartphone has a five inch HD display and could be an answer to the Samsung Phablet devices range.
Sony may release Xperial Z as it is called now instead of Yuga, in the month of January, 2013. Xperia Z smartphone will come with a HD display of five inches. A Swiss Technology site first published the images of Yuga and since then information is leaked about the images and specs.
The specifications of Xperia Z include LTE support which is one of the unique for any smartphone launched till date. 4G can be accessed through this anywhere in the world. 4G network is the latest big thing in mobiles, which allows the smartphone users to access fixed line broadband speeds. 4G network can be used anywhere in the world but the standards and Connectivity of 3G differ from country to country.
Xperia Z comes with a display screen of 5 inches size and the type of screen is HD touchscreen. The processor that powers the device is 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The operating system on which the device runs is Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean version. It is possible to take pictures and shoot video in HDR with the 12 megapixel camera that comes with flash feature. A microSD expansion facility is also provided in the devise.
Sony Xperia Z might be unveiled in the Mobile Congress World that is going to be held in February, 2013. It is also possible that the launch may be at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this month, as per the information given in an interview by Dennis Van Schie, Sales and Marketing head of Sony mobiles in Germany. He also claimed that Sony is also considering developing Windows Phone 8 as it did not want to lose the market share, if the platform becomes popular in the mobile market.
A flagship model of Sony can also be expected soon, according to Dennis. The new model will compete with Galaxy S III or Apple iPhone. The new model can be expected to be displayed either at CES show or at Mobile Congress World, informed spokeswoman of Sony who was not named. Xperia smartphone range of Sony helped the company stood in the first three places. Sony sold nearly 8.8 million handsets in the third quarter of 2012 and its share in the mobile market is 5.1%.
