New Delhi: The latest device to be added to the list of Micromax smartphones is the A116 Canvas HD. Micromax will be accepting pre orders from 26^th February, 2013. Though the price of the device is not officially confirmed, it is expected to be below Rs. 15,000.

Micromax A116 HD sports 5 inch IPS display. The display resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT 6589 processor. The device supports dual SIM. It is provided with an internal memory of 4 GB and 1 GB of RAM. There is a provision to expand the memory up to 32 GB using microSD card. The battery under the cover is 2100 mAh battery. There are two cameras – one primary camera of 8 megapixels and a rear camera of 0.3 megapixels at front for video chatting. Micromax is expected to announce a couple of smartphones in 2013 in the Canvas series. All these devices come preloaded with Micromax’s M!Store, M!Buddy, M!Zone, M!SMS and Hook UP.

Micromax A116 will be the first phone from Micromax to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version of operating system. The consumers can upgrade the device to 4.2 Jelly Bean. Micromax’s earlier launch was Canvas 2A110 which is recording good sales in the market. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports 5 inch display and 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It is provided with an internal storage of 4 GB and 512 MB of RAM. It supports Dual SIM. It is powered by 1 GHz processor and 2,000 mAh battery. It has an 8 megapixel camera at rear.
