Mini Passport Seva Kendras to Come up in Bhimavaram, Karimnagar: Srikar Reddy
Hyderabad: Secunderabad regional passport officer Dr. Srikar Reddy has announced that another two mini passport service centers will be setup in Andhra Pradesh soon. The two passport centers will be setup in Karimnagar, Bhimavaram and will begin functioning within 4 months. He said that the procedure of issue of passport becomes easy once the Aadhar card based processing of passport applications comes into implementation. Srikar Reddy participated in face-to-face programs organized by Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FAPCCI. He said that issue of passport is delayed mostly due to the delay in local police enquiry.
Passports are issued on time to the applicants in Krishna, Anantapuram and Cyberabad district because of the good functioning of police. Srikar Reddy informed that passport is being issued in just three days under Tatkal scheme. He suggested applicants not to approach any agencies for passport. Agencies are creating fake documents, forging signatures and are issuing passports. If any enquiry is conducted on the passports the people who are having fake or forged passport will have to face problems, he said.
Earlier in August, 2012 Regional Passport Office in Hyderabad has announced walk-in facility for few categories of applicants. The categories are people who are applying for passport under Tatkal scheme, applicants who are requesting police clearance certificates, senior citizens and children aged below 15 years whose parents have valid passports. Physically handicapped persons can also walk-in directly to obtain services of regional passport office.
The setup of mini passport centers in Bhimavaram and Karimnagar will further expand passport service network in Andhra Pradesh. There have been many requests to setup these service centers. The demand for passport services in Andhra Pradesh is constantly on rise. And to cope up with the demand, these two new mini passport service are being setup. The cooperation of local police will be improved to process the passport applications fast and issue the passports as early as possible. In December, 2011 seven passport seva kendras were launched at Tirupati, Ameerpet, Begumpet and Tolichowki in Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Vijayawada.
