Eranna, One of Kavitrayam-Eranna Is Prabandha Parameswarudu
Erranna is the third poet who wrote Andhra Maha Bharatam. It was initially started by Nannaya. But the pride of completing it was given to Erranna. Nannaya left the half part of Aranya parva which was also not completed by Tikkana who is the second one to write Andhra Maha Bharatha and he started from Virata parva. After many years Erranna completed this left out part or Aranya parva. Because of his excellent depicatable capacity he is known as Prabandha Parameswarudu.
Eranna started Aranya parva like Nanayya and completed it like Tikkana. He stood as the bridge between the poetic styles of both. Not only he followed their poetic styles but also laid new paths of poetic style in Telugu literature. Eranna is very famous in the method called “Ukti vaichitri” in which a matter is told in a newest way. Some of his works are Harivansham, Nrisimha puranam. There are evidences that Eranna lived between1280Ad-1364 AD. He was Asthana Kavi in the court of Prolaya Vema Reddy. There are two parts in the Harivansha written by Eranna. First part has 9Aswasalu,2044 gadya padyalu, second has 10 aswasalu and 2660 gadya padyalu. This was presented to Prolaya Vema Reddy the founder of Reddy kingdom.
