Theme: Integration of Geosciences is the only future
Association of Exploration Geophysicists has organized the 27th Annual Convention and Seminar on Exploration Geophysics during
14-16 November, 2002, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India. The Special theme
of this seminar was Integration of the Geosciences is the Only future. The
seminar was sponsored by Oil India Limited, Compagnie Generale de Geophysique,
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., De Beers, Enron Oil and Gas India
Limited, GAIL, Reliance, Cairn Energy, and Schlumberger, Scintrex. Various
national organizations, Government and Private, engaged in geoscientific
activities in India have cosponsored the event. This seminar as of immense
value to professional geoscientists, industrial planners, investors,
engineering geologists and research scholars of geosciences. The delegates at
the seminar shared a comprehensive review of the geological,geophysical,
engineering and educational challenges. A number of enowned geoscientists from
India and abroad presented state of art practices in geosciences. The members
were of the view that this was a unique opportunity to enjoy a broad
cross-section of geology, geophysics and related technology in the technical
sessions, poster sessions, exhibition and field trips.
Exhibition
An exhibition of geophysical and allied instruments and state of art software was organised during the seminar. The exst
developments with representatives from the major companies serving the needs of
the exploration industry. The Exhibits was also span all sectors of the
exploration industry, from minerals and petroleum to engineering and the
environment. This Exhibition has enabled delegates to gain a comprehensive
overview of the products and services available as well as an opportunity to
discuss the latenge of publications of AEG and other institutions were also be
exhibited.
Technical Sessions
Besides the key note addresses, there were Nine technical sessions covering a wide spectrum of important topics.
Integration of Geosciences is the only future was the
special theme for this convention. A total of Sixty Seven technical papers were
presented with the themes on Marine
geophysics, Remote sensing and airborne Geophysics, Groundwater studies and
Environmental studies, Signal processing, computing and Modelling, future
trends and technologies.
